Previous generation units have the speaker and internal battery adhered to the front housing. This plate can be used on previous generation units but risk of damage increases. It is not advised to use new faceplates or open previous generation units. We will not warranty any damage caused by attempting to remove the front faceplate on non version 3.1 units. No exceptions.
